Open Call

The TALOS project is thrilled to announce the launch of its Open Call for European startups and SMEs.

If you’re developing solutions in robotics, artificial intelligence, and data technologies and want to contribute to innovative operations and maintenance tasks in photovoltaic (PV) plants, this is your opportunity.

  • Who can apply

    • Startups and SMEs based in EU Member States or Associated Countries to Horizon Europe are invited to apply.
    • The Open Call is open to entities offering solutions that align with the challenges outlined for the TALOS Pilots.
  • Funding details

    • Startups can receive up to €200,000, covering 100% of their eligible costs.
    • SMEs that are not startups can receive up to €140,000, covering 70% of their eligible costs, with 30% required as self-funding.
  • Support Program

    Selected entities will join a 9-month support program, where TALOS consortium partners will offer technical expertise in engineering, integration, testing, and validation. This program is designed to help startups and SMEs demonstrate the added value of their solutions.

Challenges

TALOS is working across three distinct PV scenarios: land-based, floating, and agrivoltaic. The challenges for the Open Call include but are not limited to:

  • BVLOS aerial inspection

  • Prevention of algae growth and biofouling

  • Fire detection systems

  • AI-based microclimate monitoring for agricultural PV

  • Autonomous detection of defects in underwater and underground high-voltage cables

  • Inspection and maintenance of platform anchorages and mooring lines

How to apply

The application process is simple. Visit the TALOS Open Call platform, where you will find all the necessary information, including the eligibility criteria and application form. Applications will undergo a rigorous selection process, and successful applicants will receive formal communication to begin the sub-grant agreement process.
