On September 25th and 26th, 2024, the TALOS project hosted its 2nd General Assembly (GA) in Luxembourg, gathering all project partners for a critical review and discussion on the advancements made so far. The two-day event, which took place at the Chamber of Commerce in Kirchberg on the first day and SolarCleano facilities in Grass on the second, was a key opportunity for partners to align on the project’s goals and strategies moving forward.
Day 1 – Strategic discussions and updates at the Chamber of Commerce
The first day of the GA focused on presenting updates from all partners, providing a space to assess the project’s trajectory. Key presentations included:
- Definition of technical KPIs and monitoring plan to assess the adequacy and performance of TALOS solutions during the test campaign.
- Advances in the development of AI-enabled deployment tools and multi-agent systems for enhanced photovoltaic (PV) plant operations.
- Progress in creating human-robot collaborative environments, with a focus on the deployment of autonomous robots for maintenance and operations.
- Detailed updates on the demonstration of TALOS solutions across the three pilot sites: land-based PV, floating PV, and AgriPV. These demonstrations are critical in validating the innovative technologies developed within the project.
- An exploitation workshop designed to refine the project’s dissemination and exploitation strategy. Partners discussed the roadmap for bringing TALOS solutions to market, including plans for commercialisation and stakeholder engagement.
The sessions also covered project challenges, including strategies to overcome technical and operational barriers in the deployment of advanced robotics in PV plants.

Day 2 – Technology demonstrations and SolarCleano site visit
The second day took the partners to Grass for a visit to the SolarCleano facilities, where they were able to observe firsthand the cutting-edge robotic technologies being developed for solar panel maintenance. SolarCleano showcased their F1 robot, an autonomous cleaning robot that is set to revolutionise the operation and maintenance of solar PV plants.
This site visit allowed partners to gain practical insights into how the technology developed by SolarCleano is contributing to the wider objectives of TALOS. The demonstrations were an important reminder of how the project’s innovative solutions are moving closer to real-world applications.

Looking ahead: the path forward
The TALOS General Assembly concluded with partners reaffirming their commitment to the project’s ambitious goals. Discussions also looked ahead to upcoming milestones, including the completion of pilot testing and the ongoing work on the open call, which seeks to engage startups and SMEs in further developing robotics and AI solutions for solar energy.
